Tarrant’s Cafe

1 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23220 Entrée Costs: $ – $$

My favorite: White Seafood Pizza; She Crab Soup, garlic rolls, and a good IPA beer

In Richmond, downtown may show to visitors a harsh environment, a concrete jungle with no signs of warmth and comfort.  But, if you look just three blocks from the VCU Monroe Park Campus on Foushee and Broad Street, you’ll see Tarrant’s Café; a place of good food and beer.

Tarrant’s Café is one of my favorite restaurants in the Richmond-area.  They have a cool selection of beer (yes, I’m a beer lover and a female) and the food is always good.

The restored pharmacy building has been great reviews from many print publications and online websites such as Urbanspoon and TripAdvisor.

The restaurant is great, but don’t take my word for it, read a review from a reviewer on Urbanspoon.com:

“I’ve dined here twice, and I must tell you I’m so pleased to know there’s one more restaurant in Richmond that seems to be concerned with merely serving good food for the sake of serving good food. The servers are knowledgeable and upbeat, not in the least overbearing. It’s one of those menus that have something for everyone without lacking an identity altogether. “  -Chritobabble
